ABOUT THIS SHOW

Back Door!

Fabric8 presents Back Door!, a solo show featuring San Francisco-based artist Andy Stattmiller, wherein he visually expounds on the subject that San Franciscans love to hate: the MUNI transportation system.

Whether infrequent rider or relentless commuter, every MUNI passenger has a memorable experience on the bus. Drivers with character, colorful passengers, hectic city streets, and general mayhem vary from route to route, yet always seem to possess that uniquely San Francisco flavor. With Back Door!, Stattmiller presents a truly entertaining overview in 27 illustrative vignettes that capture the feelings that only MUNI can evoke.

Andy Stattmiller is an illustrator and painter living in San Francisco, California. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and has a degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design. He likes eating big burgers, watching ridiculous You Tube videos, sipping hoppy beers, climbing mountain tops and drawing into the night. He is particularly adept at painting food, musical icons, and public transportation.

Back Door! was on exhibit from August 12 to September 12 at fabric8, 3318 22nd Street near Valencia in San Francisco.
